Acquisition of joint control of Market Pay by Carrefour and Anacap approved by Commission

The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of joint control of

Market Pay SAS, based in France (payment solutions provider founded by Carrefour in 2016)

Carrefour S.A., also based in France (global group mainly active in food retailing), and AnaCap Financial Partners III, L.P. (private equity fund), which is controlled by AnaCap Group Holdings Limited. Both are based in the UK.

The Commission concluded that the proposed concentration would not give rise to competition concerns given its very limited impact on the structure of the market.

The case number is M.10064.
