Action against European Public Prosecutor’s Office for unlawful appointment of prosecutors published
Official publication has been made of the action for annulment (T-368/21) brought against the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO), an independent body responsible for investigating and prosecuting economic crimes against the financial interests of the European Union. The action challenges the Decision of 3 May 2021, by which the College of the EPPO appointed 15 European Delegated Prosecutors (EDPs) nominated by Italy.
The applicant submits a single plea in law arguing that the preliminary and binding decision adopted on 28 April 2021 by the Supreme Council of the Judiciary (Consiglio Superiore della Magistratura), a body responsible for designating EDPs in Italy, was unlawful.
