Analysis: “A new perspective on the protection of whistleblowers under the ECHR: Halet v. Luxembourg” by Dimitrios Kafteranis

The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) published, on 11 May 2021, its decision in the case of Halet v. Luxembourg (application no. 44166/15: the case is available here, only in French). With this decision, the Strasbourg Court has put an end to a long legal battle that started with the Luxleaks revelations and with the first decision, in relation to Luxleaks, in 2016 by the Luxembourg First Instance Court (Tribunal d’arrondissement).
