Analysis: “CJEU – brief review of Court’s new Practice Directions” by Michal Kianička

On 10 December 2019, the Court of Justice (‘Court’) adopted new Practice directions to parties concerning cases brought before the Court (‘Directions’). They were published in the EU Official Journal (‘OJ’) on 14 February 2020 and entered into force yesterday on 1 March 2020.

This brief review of the new Directions begins with two general remarks. Then, it explores the most important novelties compared to the previous version which had been in force since 2014. The goal is to show the highlights and to tackle the one or the other debatable aspects, not to provide a comprehensive list of all changes.
