On 22 June 2022, in the case Ryanair v Commission (Finnair II; Covid-19) (T-657/20), the General Court dismissed an action filed by Ryanair against the European Commission’s decision in State aid case SA.57410. By that decision, the Commission had approved Finland’s plan to recapitalise Finnair. Following the assessment of the recapitalisation of the flag carrier and largest airline of Finland under the Temporary Framework for State aid measures to support the economy in the current COVID-19 outbreak, the Commission had decided not to raise objections.
