Commision Implementing Regulation on the obligation to register optical fibre cables coming from China

Official publication has been made today of Commission Implementing Regulation 2021/548 on making imports of optical fibre cables originating in China subject to registration. The legal basis for the adoption of this Regulation is Article 14(5) of the Regulation 2016/1036 on protection against dumped imports from non-EU countries. 

This new Implementing Regulation is the result of an anti-dumping proceeding commenced by the Commission regarding Chinese imports of optical fibre cables that was initiated following a complaint lodged by Europacable, which represents more than 25% of the EU’s production of optical fibre cables.
