Commission approves Cobepa-Socotec and Cinven-Stichting Barentz-Barentz mergers

Published in the Official Journal yesterday were the Commission’s approval decisions for two mergers. For the first, with the Belgian Cobepa seeking sole control of the French Socotec (architectural and engineering activities, technical testing and analysis, and certain financial service activities), the Commission found that there would be limited impact on the relevant market.

The second, for acquisition of joint control over Barentz by Cinven and Stichting Barentz Beheer (activities relating to food, pharmaceutical and cosmetics products, pet foods, chemical products and private equity), was cleared due to the lack of overlap between the activities of the companies.

See these links for the text of the first and second of those decisions in the Official Journal, and for press releases here and here.
