Commission approves State aid for German airline Condor
An aid package in favour of the German airline Condor has been approved by the European Commission. It comprises two measures directed at compensating the damage suffered by the airline as a result of the coronavirus outbreak, a loss of 525.3 million euros.
Since March 2020, following the travel restrictions put in place by Germany and other Member States, as well as third countries, Condor incurred significant losses. The Commission originally approved damage compensation in favour of the company for the period 17 March to 31 December 2020 in the form of two loans, but the General Court annulled such approval.
