Commission clears acquisition of Hornsea One OFTO by DTC and CEPCON

The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of 

Hornsea One OFTO, of the UK (owns and operates the transmission network for the Hornsea One offshore windfarm)

by 

Diamond Transmission Corporation Limited (DTC, active in the transmission sector), also of the UK but controlled by the Mitsubishi Corporation of Japan, 

and 

Chubu Electric Power Company Netherlands B.V. (CEPCON), of the Netherlands (controlled by Chubu Electric Power of Japan, and active in several different energy services in overseas investments)

The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would raise no competition concerns, given the absence of overlaps between the activities of the companies.
