

Commission finds no risk of significant radioactive contamination in German plans for decommissioning and dismantling nuclear power plant
The European Commission has handed down an Opinion relating to the plan for the disposal of radioactive waste arising from the decommissioning and the dismantling of the Krümmel KKK nuclear power plant located in the land of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. The Opinion was adopted on 3 March 2020 under the provisions of the Euratom Treaty and has been officially published today.
The Commission’ assessment has been carried out on the basis of the data received from the German Government regarding the plan for the disposal of radioactive waste arising from the decommissioning and the dismantling of the Krümmel KKK nuclear power plant.
