Commission launches public consultation on European Media Freedom Act 

The European Commission has launched a public consultation on the upcoming European Media Freedom Act, a future legislative proposal that will seek to safeguard media pluralism and independence in the EU internal market. The Commission already published a call for evidence on 21 December 2021.

According to the Commission’s press release, the consultation intends to collect views on the most important issues affecting the functioning of the internal media market, including different types of interference in media, as well as economic trends.
