Commission publishes guidance on climate proofing future infrastructure projects

The European Commission has published new technical guidance on how to climate-proof future infrastructure projects for the 2021-2027 period that is in line with the European Green Deal and the Paris Agreement on Climate.

The Guidance is specifically aligned with the greenhouse gas emission reduction pathway of -55% net emissions by 2030 and climate neutrality by 2050 and follows the ‘energy efficiency first'  and ‘do no significant harm' principles. It further fulfils requirements set out in the legislation for several EU funds such as InvestEU or the Just Transition Fund.
