Conserve Italia fined 20 million euros for participating in canned vegetables cartel
The European Commission has fined Conserve Italia Soc. coop. agricola and its subsidiary Conserves France S.A. a total of 20 million euros for participation in the canned vegetables cartel (case AT.40127 - Canned vegetables).
The investigation into Conserve Italia followed from a previous Commission investigation into three other canned vegetables companies (Bonduelle, Coroos and Groupe CECAB). All three companies admitted their involvement in a 13-year price agreement cartel and entered into the settlement decision with the Commission. Conserve Italia decided not to settle.
Today, the Commission adopted an Infringement Decision finding that for more than 13 years, Conserve Italia participated with other market participants
