EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement formally signed

Yesterday, on 29 December 2020, the Council of the EU adopted, by written procedure, the decision on the signing of the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement (reached on 24 December) and its provisional application as of 1 January 2021, after the end of the transition period on 31 December 2020.

Today, the two parties have formally signed the Agreement in Brussels and London respectively. The Council decision on the signature and the provisional application of the Agreement, together with the Agreement itself, will be officially published soon.
