Council conclusions on EU Consumer Agenda

The Council of the EU has adopted a set of conclusions on the ‘New Consumer Agenda’ for the period 2020-2025, that the Commission presented by a Communication in November last year.

The Commission had set out key consumer priorities that reflect EU objectives for a green and digital transition - including requirements on products concerning their sustainability, durability, waste, and packaging, and addressing consumer protection with respect to scams, fraud, and the right to refund of travel expenses. It also devotes sections to vulnerable categories of consumers, such as disabled persons, minorities, children and minors.
