Czechia to file action against Poland over alleged violations of environmental assessment rules at Turów lignite mine

The Foreign Affairs Ministry of the Czech Republic has stated that it intends to file an action against Poland over the impact of its mining activities in the Turów lignite coal mine, located at the border between both countries, which negatively affects the lives and the environment of citizens on the Czech side, according to its Foreign Minister. Specifically, Czech citizens have allegedly suffered from reduced groundwater and significant air pollution as a consequence of Poland’s mining activities in Turów.
