Dismissal of petition challenged on grounds of conflict of interest: action published
In Vasallo Andrés v Parliament (T-496/21), the General Court will hear an action for annulment of a decision of the European Parliament’s Committee of Petitions that dismissed a petition. The action challenges the decision on the basis of an alleged conflict of interest of the President of the Committee.
The decision is specifically challenged on the grounds of the infringement of essential procedural requirements in that the President of the Committee, Ms Dolors Montserrat ‘should have led her to abstain in respect of the contested decision, since the petition entailed a clear conflict of interests on her part’.
