ECtHR condemns Moldova for bringing defamation proceedings against reporters
The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) delivered yesterday its judgment in The Association of Investigative Reporters and Editorial Security of Moldova and Sanduța v. the Republic of Moldova (application no. 4358/19), finding Moldova had violated Article 10 of the European Convention of Human Rights (freedom of speech) by not offering sufficient redress to several journalists who were victims of politically-connected defamation proceedings.
