EFTA Surveillance Authority: State aid approval decision in the OJ today

The EFTA Surveillance Authority’s (ESA) decision not to raise objections against a COVID-19 State aid measure, pursuant to Article 61 of the EEA Agreement, has been published today in the Official Journal.

The concerned measure, entitled ‘COVID-19 Renewal and amendment of the compensation scheme for the cancellation or postponement of sports and volunteer events’, is designed to compensate for eligible losses caused by the cancellation or postponement of sports and volunteer events to combat the spread of the COVID-19 virus. As previously reported on EU Law Live (here), it was first approved by ESA in April 2020 and subsequently extended in July 2020 and October 2020.
