Employment and Social Fairness in the EU: Review published

The Commission has published a review for 2020 (prepared in the Directorate-General of Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion) which draws on evidence-based analysis to reveal issues in employment and the social context, in particular taking into account the profound impact on those issues caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The review presents findings that could address those issues: adequate minimum wages and a minimum income; investing in people - such as through re-skilling and upskilling; closing gender-related gaps; structural changes such as to become green along with social measures; short-time work schemes to protect jobs; and social dialogue and collective bargaining to promote fairness in the workplace.
