EU Fundamental Rights Agency and European Data Protection Supervisor sign MOU on privacy and data protection
The EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) and the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding yesterday, 23 June 2020, renewing their cooperation agreement to further strengthen data protection across the EU. Both parties agreed that respect for fundamental rights, including privacy and data protection, is needed to make tracing apps and other recent technologies a success.
The Memorandum contains provisions on liaison and exchange of information on their initiatives in relevant areas of cooperation, on research and data collection and on joint training activities and expert meetings.
