EU sanctions against Russian individuals and entities over actions on Ukrainian territory extended for six more months

Since the Russian-Ukrainian conflict that commenced in March 2014 the EU has imposed sanctions on Russian individuals and entities in condemnation of 'the unprovoked violation of Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity by the Russian Federation' and called on the Russian Federation to 'immediately withdraw its armed forces to the areas of their permanent stationing'. The Council of the EU has decided that one of those sets of sanctions - targeting those responsible for undermining or threatening that territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine -  should be extended for another six months: until 15 March 2022. It has done so thr
