European Data Protection Supervisor’s Investigation into Microsoft: Public Paper
A paper has been published on the ‘Microsoft investigation’, launched in April 2019 by the European Data Protection Service (EDPS) into the use of Microsoft products and services by EU institutions (EUIs). In particular EDPS looked into whether the contractual agreements between Microsoft and the EU institutions fully respect data protection rules, and whether mitigating measures were in place.
It was revealed in the preliminary results that there were serious concerns, widely reported in global media.
