First short-term review of Geo-blocking Regulation by Commission
The first short-term review of implementation of the Geo-blocking Regulation in its first 18 months has been published by the Commission today in the form of a report. That Regulation prohibits unjustified geographical restrictions on cross-border trade of online goods and services.
It draws main conclusions that consumer awareness is good; that the role of Member State enforcement bodies is key to ensure trader-compliance; that a number of important obstacles have been dismantled; and that it has enabled increased access to ‘cross-border’ deliveries.
