Five more individuals in Mali added to restrictive measures list

Restrictive measures, such as restrictions on travel, or the freezing of assets, can be imposed on individuals in Mali, if that is justified under reasons set out in Council Decision 2017/1775 and Council Regulation 2017/1770 (implementing UN Security Council Resolutions). Those reasons include the blocking of humanitarian assistance and threatening the implementation of the Agreement on Peace and Reconciliation in Mali. Today, a Council Implementing Decision and a Regulation, both dated 7 January 2020, were published in the Official Journal, adding five more individuals in Mali to that list, under the justifications of blocking of assistance, threatening the Agreement, and for organised crime such as trafficking and smuggling.
