General Court dismisses three actions by Ryanair challenging COVID-19 State aid schemes

The General Court has delivered judgment in Cases T-378/20, T-379/20 and T-388/20, dismissing three actions for annulment brought by Irish low-cost airline Ryanair DAC against various decisions by the European Commission approving State aid schemes by Denmark, Sweden and Finland, respectively, in support of airlines established in said countries to compensate for the damage resulting from the imposition of travel restrictions amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

This is the second time the General Court dismisses similar actions by Ryanair, who has challenged State aid measures for the airline sector throughout the EU. On 17 February 2021, as reported here by EU Law Live, the Court dismissed two actions challenging French and Swedish State
