General Court: Selection Board must provide the weighting coefficients for the scores received during the selection procedure to the rejected candidates 

The General Court’s Extended Composition Chamber has issued a judgment in JR v Commission (T-435/20), annulling the selection board’s decision for an internal competition not to include the applicant’s name on the reserve list for the recruitment of the position because it was not sufficiently reasoned. 

The dispute related to the internal competition for the area of European public administration to which the applicant applied. After the candidate took the oral test, the selection board informed her that her name would not be included on the reserve list.

She challenged the decision stating that the board arbitrarily underestimated her overall performance qualifying it as ‘good’ even though two out of three of the examined
