Greater cooperation between Commission and International Monetary Fund

A new Financial Framework Partnership Agreement, to replace that of 2017, has been signed by the Commission and IMF.

The Agreement is to foster closer cooperation between the two long-standing partners on climate change and helping low-income and fragile countries that are partners with the EU to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

It aims to do so by making relevant contractual arrangements easier to conclude ‘for the numerous joint activities undertaken to support good economic governance, public finance management and domestic revenue mobilisation, institution building, as well as the wider 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development’.
