
Heads of State and Government identified four priorities for coronavirus outbreak in videoconference yesterday
A video conference was held yesterday, led by the President of the European Council, on the coronavirus outbreak.
Four key priorities were identified by the Heads of State and Government in this high-level meeting:
Limiting the spread of the virus, basing measures on science and medical advice; Provision of medical equipment, where the Commission will analyse needs and come up with initiatives to prevent shortages; Promotion of research, including for a vaccine; Tackling socio-economic consequences, including any impact on liquidity, providing support to SMEs, employees, and applying EU rules flexibly where necessary (such as for State aid).Read the press release here.
