Joint venture between Schlumberger and CEA: approval published
On 21 December, the European Commission approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the creation of a joint venture (Genvia) between Schlumberger SA and CEA Investissements SA (CEA), which has now been published.
Both companies are based in France.
Schlumberger is a global supplier to the oil and gas industry.
CEA takes minority stakes in start-ups in order to enable the emergence and development of high-tech companies that capitalise on research results and with a financial objective of return on investment. CEA is a subsidiary of the French Commissariat à l'énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives.
