No renewed approval for active substances benalaxyl and ethametsulfuron-methyl: Commission Implementing Regulations
Official publication has been made of two Commission Implementing Regulations (2020/1280 and 2020/1281), concerning the non-renewal of the approval of active substances benalaxyl and ethametsulfuron-methyl, respectively.
Benalaxyl had been an approved substance since it was included in Directive 2004/58, and was included in the Annex to Commission Implementing Regulation 540/2011. The European Food and Safety Authority identified a number of concerns, namely that potential groundwater contamination by the substance could not be excluded.
