Ombudsman closes inquiry on EIOPA after it agrees to disclose information on its Board of Supervisors’s debates and votes on a draft RTS 

The European Ombudsman has closed an inquiry into the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) concerning its refusal to disclose information relating to the voting results and related reasoning concerning its Board of Supervisors’ decision on a draft regulatory technical standard (RTS) on packaged retail and insurance-based investment products.

The draft RTS in question concerned the standardised information contained in the ‘key information document’, which must be made available to retail investors in order for them to understand and compare the economic and legal features of packaged retail and insurance-based investment products.
