Request for a preliminary ruling on the right of access of data in law enforcement proceedings published

Official publication has been made of a request for a preliminary ruling by a German municipal court (Verwaltungsgericht Wiesbaden) in Bundesrepublik Deutschland (C-481/21), concerning the limitation of the right of access of person’s personal data collected in the context of the criminal proceedings.

The Court of Justice is asked to interpret whether the German national legislation, which provides that the entity involved in the joint data processing does not need to be identified in the court proceedings concerning refusal to grant access nor give substantive reasons for such refusal, is compatible with the Data Protection Directive with respect to Law Enforcement (2016/680) and Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Unio
