Second-phase investigation in merger proceedings concerning Aon’s acquisition of Willis Towers Watson: decision published

Publication was made last week of the European Commission’s decision of 21 December 2020 to initiate proceedings (second-phase investigation) concerning the merger between Aon and Willis Towers Watson.

Aon is a publicly traded company domiciled in Ireland, with headquarters in London and listed in the New York Stock Exchange. It is active in more than 120 countries and offers commercial risk brokerage services, as well as retirement, health and welfare consulting and administration services. Willis Towers Watson is also a publicly listed company domiciled in Ireland and headquartered in London, and listed on the NASDAQ Global Select Market. It offers similar services in more than 140 countries.
