State aid and COVID-19: ESA greenlights increased support for the tourism sector in Norway

Yesterday, the EFTA Surveillance Authority (ESA) decided to approve Norwegian plans to increase (from 52 to 81 million euros approximately) the budget of a grant scheme for businesses in the tourism sector.

The liquidity scheme is aim to assist businesses operating within the tourism sector, which can demonstrate a significant loss of income related to the COVID-19 pandemic. It intends to help businesses facing a sudden shortage of liquidity due to the impact on the economy of the COVID-19 pandemic.
