State aid: Czechia’s public support to rail transport interoperability approved
The Commission has approved additional public support in the form of direct grants to owners or operators of railway vehicles, in the amount of around EUR 134 million, to upgrade traffic management equipment for rail rolling stock in Czechia.
This prolongs (until 2022) an existing scheme that had previously been approved by the Commission, for the support of furnishing rolling stock with the newest European Rail Traffic Management System on-board equipment.
The aims are the creation of a seamless European rail system, and increasing safety and competitiveness of that sector.
