State aid: Greek export credits available for marketing again
The Commission decided yesterday to put Greece back on the list of ‘marketable risk’ countries for short-term export credit insurance, effective from 1 January 2020. This means that short-term export credit risks will be marketable to private insurers again.
Greece was taken off the list in 2013 due to its dire economic situation and the lack of insurance capacity for credit risks related to exports to Greece. It was re-added further to a public consultation by the Commission, which takes into account the relevant indicators of Greece’s continued economic recovery.
