
Statement of the Chair on SRB’s priorities for 2022
The Chair at the Single Resolution Board (SRB) Elke König has issued a statement on the SRB’s priorities for 2022, noting that the SRB will remain focused on building resolvability in all banks, as set out in the 2022 work programme and multi-annual programme for 2021-23 and reflected in the Expectations for Banks.
She highlighted that the main three key priorities for 2022 for the SRB are:
Liquidity and funding in resolution: the SRB encourages all banks to build necessary Minimum Requirement for Own Funds and Eligible Liabilities (MREL) buffers at the current low-interest rates and continue issuing without delay.
