Insight: “Sustainable use of Pesticides: under the Commission’s Farm to Fork Strategy” by Anjum Shabbir

A Commission Communication on food sustainability for the health of humans, livelihoods, and the planet through sustainable food chains was published in the Official Journal not long ago on 20 May 2020, part of that EU Institution’s ‘Farm to Fork’ Strategy, and a core part of the European Green Deal announced by the Commission on 11 December 2019. The Strategy envisages a complete and modernised transition to a sustainable food system, with the aim of forming a global standard, to address the environmental impact and ensure food security, and that food is healthy, nutritious, accessible, affordable, environmentally-friendly and sustainable.
