Following the outbreak of conflict between Russia and Ukraine, on 1 March this year the Council approved a third package of restrictive measures against public and private entities linked with Russian military action. In particular, Council Decision 2022/351 (amending Decision 2014/512/CFSP) and Council Regulation 2022/350 (amending Regulation 833/2014) prohibit the broadcasting of any content, by any means, of certain media linked to the Russian Government: five branches of the network Russia Today (made up of RT English, RT UK, RT Germany, RT France, RT Spanish) and Sputnik'. The measures suspend RT licences to broadcast and distribute content until 31 July 2022.
