Court of Justice streaming hearing today in case concerning obligation to take fingerprints and save them in identity cards

The Court of Justice’s hearing this morning in RL v Landeshauptstadt Wiesbaden (C-61/22) concerning requirements to take fingerprints and store them in identity cards according to EU Regulation 2019/1157 will be streamed on the Court's website.

Hearings before the Court of Justice, in its Grand Chamber formation, have been available via a streaming service on its website that has been provided since 26 April 2022. As the hearing took place this morning, it will be temporarily available to view from 14.30 today.

The request for preliminary ruling has been referred by the Verwaltungsgericht Wiesbaden (Germany) and asks the Court of Justice for clarification if the obligation to take fingerprints and store them in identity car
